Indira Prieto—also known as Indy—is a Cuban-American brand designer, illustrator, and lettering artist based in Miami, Florida. Rooted deeply in craft, decoration, and cultural storytelling, her work lives at the intersection of expressive lettering, illustration, and identity. She has a lifelong love for letterforms, whether shaping custom typography, hand-lettered designs, or building brands where language itself takes center stage.

Indira’s creative practice is heavily influenced by her Latina heritage and her connection to Caribbean culture. She draws inspiration from her cultura, weaving together vibrant color palettes, rhythmic forms, and soulful details that feel both personal and celebratory. Currently, she is exploring this connection through a pattern collection inspired by the flowers and wildlife of Cuba and the Caribbean—honoring place, memory, and nature through design.

Describing herself as “a Miami designer rooted in craft, yet always drifting somewhere just above the clouds,” Indira approaches every piece with intention and emotion. Her work—whether lettering, illustration, or brand design—is created to feel natural, modern, and quietly expressive, like the most authentic version of yourself showing up in an unguarded moment. Art, for her, is a language of connection, affirmation, and joy.

As the creative force behind INDYSIGN, Indira specializes in branding, illustration, and live calligraphy for thoughtful, story-driven brands. Her illustrations and lettering have been licensed across lifestyle, fashion, and media, with clients including Erin Condren, SHEIN, Univision, and DenimINK. She is also a member of Illustrators For Hire, a curated network of professional illustrators from around the world.

Beyond the studio, Indira’s life is centered around family, creativity, and movement. When she’s not designing, you’ll often find her at the beach or a local Miami park with her baby girl, traveling whenever possible, and fueling her days with cafecito—the essential companion to both design life and motherhood. Through everything she creates, Indira brings authenticity, corazón, and celebration, using art to honor culture, community, and connection — in collaboration with DenimINK.
